Local authors Amanda McGee and Mike Allen, along with CSE Cooney and Jessica P Wick, read from the newly released Sinister Quartet in a virtual author event Saturday, July 18. The book includes four "weird dark fantasy and horror" novellas.
Amanda J. McGee is a mapmaker by day and a writer by night. She has degrees from Hollins University and Virginia Tech, where she studied languages, politics, and infrastructure. She is the author of the fantasy series The Creation Saga, one half of the podcast Pop Fizz!, and blogs weekly on books, movies, anime, and writing advice.
Mike Allen, publisher at Mythic Delirium Books, is the editor of Mythic Delirium and Clockwork Phoenix. His horror story collection Unseaming was nominated for the Shirley Jackson Award and a finalist for the Nebula Award for short fiction. his most recent collection of verse, Hungry Constellations, was a Suzette Haden Elgin Award nominee. Allen also is the the arts and culture columnist for the Roanoke Times.
C. S. E. Cooney, World Fantasy Award winner, has narrated over a hundred audiobooks and has produced three albums as the singer/songwriter Brimstone Rhine. She writes fiction, short fiction and poems, including Desdemona and the Deep, Her poetry collection How to Flirt in Faerieland and Other Wild Rhymes includes “The Sea-King’s Second Bride,” which won the Rhysling Award for best long-form verse in speculative poetry.
Jessica P. Wick is a writer, poet, and an editor of poetry at Goblin Fruit. Her work has appeared in Strange Horizons, Mythic Delirium, Cabinet des Fees,and Jabberwocky.
