Books & Beans Book Club


June pick: James McBride's The Good Lord Bird, the story of a young boy born a slave who joins John Brown’s antislavery crusade—and who must pass as a girl to survive.  You can read ahead with July's little book with a big punch: What You Are Getting Wrong About Appalachia, Elizabeth Catte's pointed response to J.D. Vance's Hillbilly Elegy. Pulitzer Prize fiction winner Hernan Diaz's Trust follows in August. 

Books and Beans is meets the first Monday of each month at Little Green Hive in 1402 Grandin Rd SW Roanoke for anyone who wants drink good coffee (tea, soda, smoothie, etc.) talk about good books (authors) and meet some interesting people.
