Author Talk July 17: Mary Carter Bishop-"Don't You Ever"
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Mary Carter Bishop will present her memoir of family and the consequences of secrets with a reading, discussion and signing Tuesday, July 17 at 7 pm. Bishop, a former Roanoke Times reporter has written a heartfelt story of finding and losing the brother she never knew existed.
Factory Man author Beth Macy calls Bishop's book "an openhearted and unflinching look at a family history that is equal parts love story and requiem for a brother she barely knew. Bishop turns her formidable investigative journalism skills inward to unearth long-simmering class and culture divides in bucolic rural Virginia."
