Author Meet-n-Greet: Sean McCutcheon - Coming Together
Meet Sean McCutcheon, author of the new book Coming Together, Saturday, April 1 from 11 am to 1 pm at Book No Further. Coming Together, "provides hope and an action plan for us to work together and fix many of the problems in our country."
McCutcheon says, "The U.S. used to provide affordable healthcare, and education. Our people supported workers' rights. We used to invest in our people. We are being told that we can't do those things ... We have fought hard to conquer these problems before, and we can do it again."
McCutcheon earned a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University and a master's degree from the U.S. Army. He worked as a counsellor a social worker and served four years in the U.S. Air Force, deployed with the Army to Iraq in 2006. He is a Unitarian Universalist and a member of the ACLU and the NAACP, an experience that has shown him we "have more in common than we have that separates us."
He's now trying his hand at being an author as a means of healing the divides between us, with the goal of working towards a more just society.
