About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Anna Patterson has written many books and they reflect her own life in rural America and small towns. The Western culture has been an abiding interest of hers and has influenced her entire life. This book is the first book of a series of Westerns which as a setting have the historical time of the United States called in history books The Western Migration. It was called "The Westward Movement" sending people in a rush across the continent of North America. They moved from the Atlantic to the Pacific in that migration pattern of civilization. This was along a stretch of country covering three thousand miles. During that time European people came through this area and fought the natural wilderness they found there, and the people already living in these lands. For better or worse, it was part of the historic changes of civilization and this vast Western land and frontier.
