Book No Further …

...  is an independent bookstore on the Roanoke City Market offering new and gently used bestsellers, fiction and non-fiction, classics and specially curated topic sections, such as horror, translated literature and funky history.  BNF features books about the Roanoke and New River Valleys and local authors along with a special selection of Appalachian fiction and non-fiction.

The store hosts literary and special events including author talks by nationally bestselling writers Liza Mundy, Beth Macy, Mary Carter Bishop and others. BNF schedules (and is always looking for) interesting creative and intellectual events to bring all parts of the communtiy together. Customer recommendations for books or events are greatly encouraged. (You can use our online form to make it easy. 

A year of planning and two month of chaos led up to the opening at 16 West Market Street in downtown Roanoke in October 2017. In 2019 we moved to our current home at 112 Market St SE - on the Roanoke City Market. 

Doloris Vest, owner

Doloris is a native of Radford, a Radford University graduate After working in journalism and public relations in the New River Valley she has spent 20-plus years in corporate marketing and non-profit management in the Roanoke Valley. She also writes periodically for publications in the area and, maybe, one day, will finish one of the three novels she has almost complete.

Craig Coker, owner

Craig is a native New Zealander and grew up in the Washington, DC, area. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and The George Washington University. He has worked as an environmental engineer for more than 40 years and is the president of Coker Organics Recycling, an international environmental-consulting firm.
